I was born in Gulfport, MS, completed my Bachelor's degree at Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL receiving 2 Bachelor degrees, a BS in Medical Technology, and a BA in Biology. I worked as a Medical Technologist before attending medical school. I graduated at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving my DO degree in 1988. My Internal Medicine Residency completed with Michigan State University, through the Detroit Osteopathic and Bi-County Community Osteopathic Hospitals completing my Residency in 1991. I then entered my sub-specialty training in Adult invasive/interventional Cardiology. My interest in medical practice include Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmia and Hypertension.
Since finishing my training, my practice has centered around Family Medicine and Pediatrics. Working in a smaller community, which has always been where I wanted to practice medicine, (in fact the reason I decided to become a Doctor was to work in a small community), and doing so allows one the opportunity to have a wider scope in practice. Helping to take care of the "little ones" is always a joy especially to see how they will bounce back so quickly after an illness.
Winfield Medical Arts is pleased to offer you health care for your entire family:
